Anyone planning to use the Facility, or currently collaborating with one of the nodes, may wish to take advantage of this opportunity to hear more about the Facility and to consult with the staff.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A draft of the schedule of talks and a preliminary book of abstracts are now available on the website (under programme) but please check the final programme after Dec. 6 to confirm your talk time.   We have saved some interesting sessions until the last day so please try to stay if you can.  There is still space for additional talks on the last morning and lots of room for posters.  Please try to submit your abstracts as soon as possible but they will only be included in the programme if submitted by Dec. 6th.   We are also arranging an option l post-conference field trip to the University field station on Loch Lomond (SCENE) in the afternoon of Dec. 21.  A sign-up sheet will be posted shortly.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Registration for the 46th annual meeting, which will be held at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, is now open.  Early-bird registration closes one month before the conference (Nov. 19) and registration will close 2 weeks before hand (Dec. 3).  Please go to the conference website to register and to find further details about the programme, as well as information on travel and accommodation: <a href="http://www.populationgeneticsgroup.org">www.populationgeneticsgroup.org</a></p>
<p>There will be an opening reception on Dec. 18, from 6 pm at the Jurys Inn in central Glasgow, where special rates for accommodation have been arranged. This will be preceded by an information session from the NERC Biomolecular Analysis Facility (NBAF), which provides access to high-level genomics, metabolomics and bioinformatics for the ecological and evolutionary research community in the UK using the latest technologies ( <a href="http://nbaf.nerc.ac.uk/">http://nbaf.nerc.ac.uk/</a> ).   Details to follow, but the NBAF session will run from 5 pm to 5.45 pm.  Registration on Dec. 18 will start at 4 pm at the Jurys.</p>

<div>There have been exciting advances in molecular analyses of genetic and epigenetic regulation of key cellular processes.  This meeting will focus on issues such as chromatin, epigenetics and gene regulation, replication, checkpoints and DNA repair, RNA function and control as they apply to processes of development, stem cells and diseases such as cancer.<br />
This meeting is sponsored by the Genetics Society and celebrates the 25th anniversary of the journal Genes and Development of which the Genetics Society has been a founding participant. The speakers are all distinguished leaders in their respective fields and will present and discuss recent and exciting research developments.</div>
